If you want to create, practice observing.
Art making comes almost completely from observing. You observe the space around you with all of your senses – you fill up with the effects of what you see when yo create it. It bubbles up and out of you more freely.
Be open and see without judgement. The more receptive you are, the deeper you see, the better you will create. Whatever your style – Just create what pulls you in and create it more. The line of form – make it feel like what you saw. The texture of a form – make it call to you when you look at it – begging you to touch it.
If you look at art that you find affects you – look again. Step away from your adoring and notice how it feels to see the colors and shapes there. Soak it in then use that understanding to create your own.
Practice patience, tell your logic to rest and create a lot of art. Step by step you will move closer to creating what you need to express in your own way.
